Select: Search Jobs | Search Resumes | Post Job | Edit Job | Post Resume | About JobMatch Job Available 8/20/26: Position: Intermodal Operations Manager – Chicago, IL Location: Mokena, IL Experience: 3-5 years Salary: TBD Centrans Truck Lines is seeking an experienced Intermodal Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced Chicago drayage company. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands the Chicago intermodal market and can manage daily operations, solve problems quickly, and keep freight moving while providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of a Chicago drayage fleet. Dispatch and coordinate company drivers and owner-operators. Communicate with railroads, steamship lines, chassis providers, warehouses, shippers, brokers, and customers. Manage import and export container movements. Coordinate appointments, live loads, drop & hooks, and customer requests. Handle operational issues, service failures, and customer escalations. Price freight and understand accessorials, including detention, chassis, storage, rail splits, overweight, yard moves, and other drayage charges. Work closely with customers to ensure excellent service and on-time performance. Help improve operational efficiency and profitability. Qualifications The ideal candidate should have experience with: Chicago intermodal/drayage operations Daily dispatch and fleet management Driver management Rail terminals (BNSF, UP, NS, CSX, CN, CPKC) Steamship line procedures Container tracking Chassis management Customer service Billing and accessorials Transportation Management Systems (TMS) Problem solving in a fast-paced environment Preferred 5+ years of Chicago intermodal operations experience. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure. Experience managing both company drivers and owner-operators is a plus. Compensation Compensation is competitive and will be based on experience.
