AIR IMPORT EXPERIENCE: ?Manage pre-alerts daily to determine whether freight is arriving as expected. ?Process inbound shipments for an assigned base of accounts. Set up breakbulk files for all documents and records relevant to the consolidation. ?Prepare arrival notices for in house or outside brokers. Follow up when freight would clear prior to movement. ? Coordinate with client import agents and external parties for missing documents, detailed and required information such as cargo release (ABI) notes, and any customer requests needed to obtain release. ? Prepare delivery orders, expedite movement of freight and eliminate or reduce demurrage charges; trace late or lost freight. Create delivery orders for drivers, update proof of deliveries (PODs), and respond to emails regarding verifications and confirmations; maintain conformity to SOP and regulatory requirements. Inform warehouse with hard-copy documentation for offload rectification and separation of co-loaded freight in order to prevent load issues or damages. Processed transactions; responsible for breakbulk duties; prepared, received, reviewed and processed import documentation; assisted with traffic coordination of Import goods. Opened new accounts and assigned files for clients; billed and invoiced cargo, freight and logistics. OCEAN IMPORT EXPERIENCE: Knowledge and use of Importer Security Filing (ISF) for transocean freight compliance. Outport Desk: Received information from logistics coordinators within BDP and paid terminal handling and other charges regarding air freight. Tracked and resolved issues through U.S. Customs, including expediting and resolving delays. Ensure bill of lading is surrendered for steamship release; meet requirements to allow cargo movement after customs release; determine best routing for shipping of goods to ensure timely arrival. Attained detailed cargo information from steamships (OOCL, Evergreen, Maersk), with responsibility for scanning, barcoding and transmitting information to New York. Resolved issues regarding entry document requirements (EDRs); resubmitted documents to customs. Awarded second responsibility for receiving electronic files (EDI) from server, including inputting information and attaining an entry number to track shipments from point of delivery to final destination. Dispatched overseas freight to contracted drivers out of Minneapolis, MN, hauling 20-45 ft. containers. Received LTL and LCL freight; attained freight verifications, clearance and charges due for freight release. Assigned fees and increased profit based on customer freight requirements.
